WoW: Running of the Gnomes - Thousands of Gnomes are also running in Classic!

April 26, 2021

It's that time again: The gnomes are running through Azeroth, the charity event Running of the Gnomes returns - and this year for the first time in WoW Classic! The annual Running of the Gnomes aims to raise awareness of the disease as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and raises funds for organizations working to address the issue.

Proceeds from the run, which took place in 2019 in WoW (buy now €24.99 )(BfA) on October 12 at 4pm PST on the US server Scarlet Crusade and will rise in WoW Classic on October 20, 2019 at 0:00am German time on the US server Bloodsail Buccaneers, will this year go to The Pink Fund. The Pink Fund provides financial support to breast cancer patients to meet basic needs such as housing, and to counsel sufferers on stress management and insurance issues.

Organizers of the Gnome Run hope to raise at least $5,000. Those wishing to donate can do so through The Pink Fund's associated link. Participants in the run will meet as pink-haired gnomes at the Dun Morogh gnome start zone and run from there through Azeroth to Loot Bay. If you'd like to join the pink gnomes, you can join the event's Discord channel.

Incidentally, due to the success of Running of the Gnomes, Blizzard has now introduced its own micro-celebration day in WoW, with various cheering spectators and decorations lining the route of the run from Dun Morogh to Loot Bay.
